Scent Profiles

Sourcing Story

We found these essential oils in Takayama, early in the morning, while waiting for Mum to finish dressing in her kimono for the day. The town was still waking up — wooden streets glowing softly, the air carrying that cool, alpine hush Hida is known for. A small shop near the old town was distilling fresh batches of local wood oils. When we stepped inside, the scent of hinoki and cedar drifted through the air like an invitation. Each bottle was crafted from trees grown in the surrounding mountains — simple, honest, beautifully pure. There was something special about discovering them in that quiet moment, wrapped in the charm of Takayama and the warmth of family. So we brought them home — little bottles of forest calm, captured in glass.
