Tai Ono Chikei Series Shiroao Ash-Glazed Serving Bowl
From the Chikei Series (地景シリーズ or earth-landscape) this shallow bowl is finished in Ono’s signature ash-white glaze, a surface created by blending white clay with wood ash and local soils. The result is a frost-touched blue that settles gently across the form, with natural iron flecks revealing the underlying earth. Wide and weighty, it works beautifully for fruit, salads, or as a sculptural piece left empty — a still lake of winter colour at the centre of a table.
